Boyne Fishermen’s boat house plan considered
Drogheda Independent - Friday July 25th 2003
DROGHEDA Borough Council are now considering the details of plans for a proposed new boat house for the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service (BFRRS).
If successful the new facility will be located on lands on the Marsh Road allocated by the Council.
Adjacent to the main pumping station for the Drogheda sewerage treatment plant, volunteers within the BFRRS have claimed that the facility will lead to a much improved rescue service.
The boat house will be accessed by vehicles from the Marsh Road.
Although the lands in question have suffered from flooding in the past during high tides, the complex floor is to be constructed clear of the high water mark to avoid difficulties.
