St. Dominic's Bridge cleaned
Drogheda Independent - Friday March 5th 2004
Historic St Dominic's Bridge in Drogheda received a thorough cleaning last week courtesy ofThe Bovne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Services and Drogheda Borough Council.
Using their river boats, the Rescue Service removed the unsightly weed, wrack, plastic bags, rope and rubbish from the metal legs, revealing the attractive lines of the bridge.
The bridge was in a terrible state and looked very bad, especially when the tide went out and left the legs exposed,' said Drogheda Borough Council's Environmental officer, Michael McCabe.
Material removed was disposed of in the White River landfill site.
