Dramatic Rescue From River Boyne by local rescue crew
The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service received an emergency callout in the early hours of Monday morning. A man was rescued from the river Boyne in Drogheda. He was taken from the water in the vicinity of the Viaduct, by the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue at around 5.15 Monday morning.
Gardai and the emergency services were on the scene within minutes. Members of the BFRRS were dispatched to the scene immediately. On arrival, four crew members entered the water and held the man safely, until the boat crew arrived on the scene.
The man was taken by boat to the slipway in horse lane, and from there, transferred by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment.
