Emergency Callout
The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service received and emergency callout at 21.58 in Drogheda last night (Monday 22nd June). A man was spotted in the water at Wellington Quay by a passer-by, who bravely entered the river and managed to take the man to the safety of the nearby steps.
The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue personnel and Gardai were on the scene within minutes and a rescue boat was launched from the Marsh Road. Members of the B.F.R.R.S. administered First Aid to the man who was then transfered to Hospital by ambulance.
