Coaxed from railings
Drogheda Independent - Wednesday June 10 2009

A POTENTIAL tragedy was avoided recently after the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service (BFRRS) managed to dissuade a man from jumping into the river.
The drama unfolded in the early hours of Monday last when the organisation received a callout after a man was spotted at the Haymarket Bridge in a distressed state.
A rescue boat was quickly dispatched to the area from the Marsh Road while the BFRRS land crew made their way to the scene.
The land crew managed to coax the man back across the railings to safety and subsequently administered emergency treatment to a severe laceration on his hand.
The man was then brought by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for further treatment.
