Boyne Fishermen aid in Wexford River Rescue

BOYNE Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service (BFRRS) were involved in a dramatic rescue on Monday morning in Wexford when a woman fell into the River Slaney.

Members of BFRRS have been in Wexford for the past week assisting in the search for 20-year-old Michael 'Mikey' Berry who has not been seen since December 17th.

A crew from BFRRS were in Wexford continuing their search when they were alerted to the woman who fell off the pier in the town at 10.40am on Monday, January 26th.

Personnel, with the assistance of two passersby, managed to haul the woman out of the water and onto the pier and immediately administered first aid.

The crew treated the woman for shock and hypothermia before she was transferred to an ambulance and taken to a Wexford hospital.

The search for Michael 'Mikey' Berry continues.
