Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service Praised

The Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service (BFRRS) have this week been praised by a coordinator of the missing person's helpline for the great work that they do and especially in their successful recovery of the body of Deirdre Conneely who had been missing for nearly five weeks
Deirdre (32) left her home in Castlerea, Roscommon at 7.30am on 18th May to get a train to Roscommon town. She was due to return home at 6.00pm. But she failed to do so.
A full search team, including divers and boat handleing personel left the Marsh Road, on Saturday morning at 6.30 a.m. and commenced a search of the local river, which involved deploying divers and dragging the river at various points.
On Sunday shortly after 3.00 p.m. the Boyne FishermenÕs Dive Unit located her body in the River Suck, near Willsbrook Bridge at Clonndecarry, Castlerea. Her body was removed to University College hospital in Galway where a post mortem examination was to take place.
The Boyne FishermenÕs Rescue and Recovery Service wish to extend its Sympathy to the Family and Friends of Deirdre Conneely.
Thos Lavery from the missing person's helpline praised the men for their efforts, as did the local community.
"We would like to thank BFRRS sincerely for all the help that they gave us in this search and indeed the many searches that the group assists in all over the country. The people of Castlerea also want to thank the group for finding Ms Conneely's body." Thos said.
