The new 600 square metre boathouse, which is currently being built on a one acre site right on the banks of the river Boyne due east of the Viaduct, will give the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service a home and a new sense of identity. It is hoped that the Boat House will be up and running in the not too distant future. When finished the boat house will feature state of the art facilities including a room for boat storage, a boat maintenance room, a meeting room and a coffee dock, a radio control room, showers, lockers, a recovery room and a morgue. There will also be emergency medical facilities.
